About the Team›The Name

The name Carnage comes from a few different things. As you can see from the website, it brings about a sort of bloody theme that people sometimes associate the word Carnage with. If you are a follower of the Spider-Man comic book series you are familiar with the villain Carnage. octanE, being the huge comic fan he is, decided to bring that theme into his team's name and website. Carnage, the villain, is a bloody figure similar to the Venom in the Spider-Man 3 movie, however, Carnage is much stronger than both Spider-Man and Venom so to stop him it takes the combination of both Spider-Man and Venom working together as a team. As you can see in the picture, Carnage is a very bloody figure with so much rage built in that his only purpose is to provide destruction to all that he sees.

This was the main reason for choosing the team name. It is hard to avoid the typical cliche team names, but we feel this one was unused and well fitting for the team. The definition of the word carnage also had a big hand in the choosing of the team name. Carnage means "the savage and excessive killing of many people", which sort of goes hand in hand with Counter-Strike as you must kill your enemies to win. As you will learn in the History portion, this team name was stumbled upon while octanE was forming his first pug to attend the CPL Summer 2007 tournament.
